ON TV: WEDDING DECORATIONS

Paper DIY are some of my favorite projects. They are effective, affordable, mostly easy to create (as long as you stay away from super advanced origami stuff) and highly personalizable.

For this project I picked three different decorations, all of them from the same material: tissue paper! One sheet 19 cents, this stuff cannot be beaten.

Project #1: Flowers!

Cut tissue paper into petals, play around with the shapes and try out different variations! For the six flowers I created, I never used the same shape twice. If they slightly differ in shape, they look more natural - as far as tissue paper flowers could ever look natural... You know what I mean ;-) .

You can either use a chopstick like I did, or a straw, or even a pencil!

You basically twist the tissue paper petals around your base, slightly offset.

Whenever you feel the petals are sliding down the chopstick, you can just secure them with a piece of tape.

The last step is to twist some of the green tissue around the base, secure it with tape right at the bottom, and then put them in a vase or bundle them up for a bouquet.

Project #2: Pompoms!

These beauties are super versatile. Create them in in just one color or multicolored, tiny, large or extra large, shaped like a flower or like a ball.

The more paper, the fluffier the pompom.

Projekt #3: A Tassel Garland!

And JUST when I complained to Anne on the phone about how difficult it was to photograph every step properly when I needed two hands to fold the paper etc, my friend Max showed up and kindly photographed eeeeevery detail of the projects. The best!

Happy Wednesday everyone!
Love, Ida
