Ever since I bought my macbook six years ago, I've carried it in at least four different covers. They are so easy to make, quick too, and perfect for using up scraps of fabrics.

- felt, twice the size of the laptop
- fabric to decorate it with
- a sewing machine
- scissors

I measured the laptop, added about 2.5 cm (1 inch) to the sides and cut two rectangles. Felt is such a forgiving material, I always add a little more room and then cut away excess if there is any.

I wanted the cover to have rounded edges, so I used a roll of tape to trace that onto the rectancles.

The next step is to iron the fabric, tuck in the corners and sew it onto one part of the cover.

I simply tucked in the sides, too.

I added a few more rows of stitching to adhere the fabric onto the felt.

The last step is to align both rectangles and sew the two parts together on three sides, leaving one short side open.

Done, and done! This is a really simple project with a lot of possibilities to personalize. You could apply your initials, cut out of felt, your favorite fabric, use two colors of felt, one on each side... Endless possibilities!

Here's a behind-the-scenes picture my producer snapped for me at the rehearsal :) we always talk everything through, very briefly, and prepare my work station.

I still can't believe I get to be on tv once a month. I really enjoy it and I'm already looking forward to preparing the next project... :)

Love, Ida
